Lees verder!

character.
[intelligent] Sho is an incredibly smart young little girl. She knows a lot about a big variety of subjects and loves learning new things about pretty much anything. A curious little thing, she tends to ask many questions, sometimes to the annoyance of others. Sho is also very apt at researching things for herself, be it through her power, or actually discovering it by doing it on her own. Furthermore, Sho is very good in solving problems and puzzels, even when under pressure.

[self-assured] Sho is very confident in herself and in her abilities. She knows exactly what she wants and has strong opinions about a miriad of things. She is not afraid to stand up for herself and say whatever is on her mind. Sho also knows exactly when she's right or wrong and is not afraid to own up to her mistakes.

[daredevil] Sho knows no fear. Be it a dangerous situation or talking with random people and lecturing them, Sho will go right ahead. She's never been afraid of spiders or the like either and doesn't mind getting dirty. When among friends, she's usually the first to try something new. She is not one to run away from a fight or any kind of danger or something and rather likes to put herself to the test. She always faces difficulties head-on.

[tough] Sho sometimes seems to be made out of stone. She's rarely faced by mean comments and doesn't ever let them get to her. She has an incredibly sharp tongue and a whole lot of sass in that small body of hers. Sho rarely ever cries and rather keeps walking straight with her head held high.

[recalcitrant] Sho is someone who does under no circumstances comform to what others deem normal. She has her own set of ideas and opinions which she just loves to express. Sho is a little rebel and has trouble listening to others, especially when those others think they know things better than her. She's very stubborn and won't easily back out from a discussion.

history.
The young girl, barely past the age of fifteen was completely in love with her math and biology teacher, ten years her senior. She thought him handsome and smart, a real gentleman too! He was always very kind and sweet towards his students, though he seemed to favour the young girl more so than the others. It started of small. Short casual talks after class, casual talks in the hallways, innocent touches on the shoulder or arm or head. Slowly but surely, it started escalating after that. Lingering touches and deeper conversations, soft kisses after school, stolen kisses during school, sex. The young girl and her teacher were inseperable.

The young girl discovered she was pregnant when she was barely sixteen. It was too late for an abortion. The teacher, the love of her life and father of her child denied everything. They had never had a relationship, nor was he the father of the child. The school was quick to suspend her and her family felt ashamed. When the, what turned  out to be, twin girls were born, she immediatly gave them up for a closed adoption. Her name was not be put on any forms and she never wanted anything to do with the twins.

For the first few months of their lives, the twins lived in an orphanage, who named the children Sayuri and Sho. Soon enough, they were adopted by an Australian couple from Perth. Though Elijah and Eleanor had been trying for a baby for several years now, tests showed that Elijah's sperm count was just too low and quality of sperm was bad to boot. They quickly decided they wanted to adopt and started the two year long proces. About two and a half years later, a small Sayuri and a small Sho joined the Davies family.

Sayuri and Sho were inseperable from the start, always playing together and always sharing everything. And though they looked alike like two drops of water, they couldn't be more different in character, which, especially starting from their toddler years, became incredibly noticeable. Where Sayuri was quiet and shy, Sho was loud and bold. And where Sayuri would rather stay in the background for a bit, Sho would grab the spotlight and say whatever was on her mind.

Besides the fact that the twins were very close, aside from normal sibling spats, they were also very close with their parents. Their dad was an artist who worked from home, he made drawings for an animation studio and was also fulltime housedad. Their mother worked as a fulltime psychologist. Despite their busy schedules, there was always enough time to be together and do fun things. The twins grew up without a strict set of rules and were encouraged to be noone but themselves and who they wanted to be. It sometimes seems that Sho has taken this a bit too much to heart.

Sho first discovered her peculiarity when she was about four years old. A curious little thing, she asked about anything and everything, wanting to know all specific details about any subject possible. She had found an old antique book up in the attic. Curious as she was, Sho paged through the book that spoke of military strategy and tactics. She didn't understand much, but was enthralled nontheless. She took the book downstairs to the living room and waited for her dad to come home from his quick run to the store. When he finally did and Sho asked him if he wanted to help her with something, she ran to the book on a coffeetable and as soon as she picked the book up, it happened.

"The Art of War," she spoke. "349 pages, written by Sun Tzu, translated by Dr. Lionel Giles from Great Britain. Published in 1910." Little Sho dropped the book and grabbed her head with both hands, falling to her knees, a pained look marring her face. Her father grabbed her by the shoulders. "What's wrong, sweetie?" he asked, clearly startled and maybe even  a bit frightened."One who knows the enemy and knows himself will not be endangered in a hundred engagements. One who does not know the enemy but knows himself will sometimes be victorious, sometimes meet with defeat. One who knows neither the enemy nor himself will invariably be defeated in every engagement, page 135, middle paragraph, block quote."

By this time, the small child was sobbing. Her head. It hurt so bad! She started riddling off more and more quotes. Her father, seriously scared for his daughter, quickly picked her up and ran off in search of Sayuri, who he grabbed by the hand, before practically running to the car. They arrived at the hospital in record time. The doctor didn't take long to diagnose her as a peculiar child, whereafter she was sedated to keep her calm and away from possible harm.

After this, ever as sure of herself, Sho slowly started learning about her peculiarity. Smaller things at first, that didn't hold as much information as The Art of War, to test her limitations. Her twin sister turned out to be a peculiar child as well. Not strange, considering the fact that they were identical twins.

Sayuri's peculiarity brought relieve to Sho. For one, she was no longer alone in being a peculiar child. Also, Sayuri was able to soften the headaches that happened nearly everytime Sho touched something. Though the headaches don't completely vanish, it's like the screws are loosened, allowing some steam to escape, for which Sho is incredibly grateful.

When Sho and Sayuri were six years old, they discovered a new side to their power that they could only use together. It happened when their mother was baking a cake and she burned herself. The twins quickly ran towards their mother to hug her and make her feel better. They both had a hold of their mothers hand when suddenly, the small burn was gone. It wasn't until later that they discovered how this happened. They both had felt so bad for their mother and wanted nothing more than to make her feel better. That resulted in them activating both their powers and before anyone knew what was going on, it had already happened.

As the years crept by and the twins grew older, their abilities had garnered some unwanted attention. They started getting harrassed on the streets and the other kids at their school had started to ignore them. Their parents, eventually, with pain in their hearts, decided to send the twins to Norway, to a loop where their peculiar auntie also resided.

gift.
Sho's peculiarity is psychometry. With this she has the power to perceive all and any information of an object and/or person by using touch. This information includes, but is not limited to the name of object; any and all materials of object; exact size of object; use of object; (previous) owner of object; history of object and content of object.

For example, when Sho touches a piece of paper with some stuff written on the back, she'll not only get the information of whatever is written down, but also information like 0.07 millimeters thickness, 8.5 X 11 inches, deinked pulp, silica pigment and PVOH coating on the paper. And carbon black dye, oil on the ink used. This then continues on in the smaller components of the paper and ink. Iron sulfate, ethylene glycol, nitrocellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Information like the owner of the paper and who wrote on the paper is also gathered. As is the fact that the paper is approximately five years old and had traveled from america to australia.

When Sho touches, for example, a book, she'll not only get all the information on the components of the cover and book, but also when it was released, who wrote it, together with every single line of text written in the book.

When Sho touches a person or an animal, she'll be able to tell you information like name, parents, siblings, date of birth, place of birth and bloodtype.

The downside of Sho's peculiarity is that whenever she touches something and the stream of information starts filling her mind, she has no way of shutting it down. The information keeps going on and going, on repeat, again and again. This usually results into sharp, stinging headaches. This usually keeps going for about four to six hours, sometimes going up to as much as ten hours. The longest it's ever lasted was about fifteen hours. During these processing times she can hardly concentrate on anything but the information at hand.

Though Sho usually has some control over her gift, it will sometimes activate, seemingly at random, especially when she's sick, unsure of herself or vulnerable. She has power cancellating gloves, which she sometimes can be seen wearing.

Sho has another peculiarity when combined with her twinsister. If they both touch a person at the same time and activate their powers, they are able to heal small wounds. It isn't exactly clear how it happens, though it is speculated that it has something to do with the transfer of information on emotion and knowledge between the twins.

tl;dr If Sho touches anything, she'll get all possible information about this thing in her head. In combination with her twinsister, Sho is able to heal small wounds.

trivia.
+ Sho is the smaller and younger one of the twins.

+ Sho is quite protective, especially when it comes to her sister, despite the fact that Sayuri is older and taller than her.

+ Sho has a strong dislike of most candies, especially chocolate. She does, however, love salmiak liquorice, especially salty herrings.

+ Sho misses her parents greatly but usually keeps her head high and is strong for her twinsister.

+ Sho can only be described as a picky eater. She dislikes most meats and many vegetables. She does, however, like fruit and eats quite a lot of this. Also, Sho rarely, if ever,  drinks soft drinks, hating the taste of them. She prefers milk or applejuice.

+ When Sho was very little, around the ages three, four and five, she had an imaginary friend named Roosevelt, after President Theodore Roosevelt. He was a big talking bear with C-bridge type pince-nez glasses perched on his fuzzy snout. Roosevelt always helped Sho with gathering courage to do crazy things. Now, when Sho is older, she, on occasion still talks to Roosevelt for the heck of it.

+ Ever since she discovered her peculiarity, Sho always kept 'The Art of War' by Sun Tzu close to her. She feels like it holds special meaning to her.

+ In her spare time Sho enjoys drawing, at which she's really quite good. She also likes airhockey and can play a decent game of soccer.
