In depth: Bella is a sweet looking girl. She’s a charming young woman and is mostly very friendly and calm. However, she will step in if you cross the line. She isn’t afraid to tell the truth and punish peculiars when they go against the rules. She isn’t easily persuaded and is a very down to earth woman. Due to her own loop being she destroyed, she will do anything to keep this loop safe and won’t stand for anyone who goes against her or the set rules. But if you follow all the rules correctly, you can expect her to be very friendly, guiding and sweet.

Bella is an ymbryne. An ymbryne has different aspects to their power.

»shapeshift Bella is capable of shifting into a bird. The bird she transforms into is the sinai rosefinch. She can transform whenever she wants to, but it does require a certain amount of concentration and she won’t be able to transform when wounded. If she stays in her bird form for too long, she could develop a few twitchy ticks when transformed back to her human form. This is why she doesn’t stay in her bird form for too long.

» time manipulation Just like any other ymbryne, Bella is capable of manipulating time. She can rewind, fast forward or set time still. She can use it in different ranges. For example she could make a plant grow faster by moving time forward or she could undo certain events by rewinding time. Just like other ymbrynes, she’s also capable of creating a loop in this way.

» sensing peculiars As most ymbrynes, Bella has also gained the skill to notice peculiars or even hollows. She notices when someone is special and has a peculiarity, but she can’t sense what kind of peculiarity. She also has a good gut feeling when it comes to hollows and can recognize it easily when they’re near. She gained these skills from pure experience.

Past
Bella was born in Marseille in 1745. She was born into an elite family and provided with the best care and education. Her youth was peaceful despite the war. Her family was unbothered by the many battles France fought at that time as their wealth shielded them from any harm or army duty. With two daughters the family was bound to have good ties. At the age of 16 Bella was to be wed with a high rank soldier. She wasn’t too thrilled about it as she barely knew him, but the wedding wasn’t about love. It was about money and wealth. She didn’t hesitate to marry him and yet the marriage didn’t proceed. This was due other problems. The family had noticed Bella’s odd behavior from time to time in correlation to birds. They usually wrote it off as a staring dreamily, but before the wedding Bella was forced into her bird form by her power. The wedding was immediately canceled, and Bella was captured as she got labeled for a witch. In one night, her whole life threatened to be over. There was only one solution. With a lot of concentration, and with the many emotions and panic rushing through her, she managed to turn into a bird once again and flew away.

Not knowing where to go she wandered around, going from place to place, trying to get food or a place to stay. Eventually she found shelter by a handsome young man. The man saw the beauty behind the dirt and poverty and the two soon fell in love. Bella swore to never use her newly discovered power again and tried to live her happy new life. The two got married and lived together for about ten years when another supernatural event took place. The two wanted children badly and Bella was starting to panic as she was thinking that her weird transformation of the past had maybe made her infertile. Due to panic and lack of reassurance, she wished things could go back to how they used to be – without pressure, without a baby wish, just a happy couple. And that wish came true. When she opened her eyes again, she saw her husband sitting at the dinning table as if nothing had happened. Confused she tried to talk to him about it, but he didn’t seem to understand it. He hadn’t experience it. Bella knew she wasn’t seeing things, yet she didn’t want to pressure her husband into believing her. Instead she decided to do some research on her own. As her husband couldn’t read -because he was of the working class-, she could freely do her research in the library. He didn’t know what she was researching and whenever he’d ask she’d just say it was about birds, as she still had a big fascination for them. But she wasn’t studying birds. No, she was contacting other people who have had the same experiences as her. She learned about ymbrynes and that she was one of them. Finally, she knew that she wasn’t crazy and finally she could lay it all to rest.

Or so she thought.

A week later she was going out to pick up some more ink, when she suddenly saw guards rushing for her. At first, she wanted to stay calm, not wanting to run away from her perfect life, but as they rushed closer, she realized that it wasn’t coincidence. They were there for her. With enough secret practice she gained control over her shape shifting. It was to make sure that the bird wouldn’t come out when it wasn’t needed, but now it surely was. Once again, she had to flee from her home, to never see her husband again.

She landed in Annemasse. It was a small village on the border with Switzerland. It was the place of an ymbryne she had been in contact with. The ymbryne helped her and eventually advised her to set up a loop. More and more odd children had been reported in the land and the ymbryne wanted to give them a home. As Bella had practiced enough with her powers, she could easily set up a loop. Losing her home two times, she knew exactly how the children felt and immediately made the loop. In 1775 the loop in Annemasse was created. The residence was located in the hills, a few kilometers away from the Mont Blanc. She provided a home for the peculiar children for about 241 years. In 2016 the number of hollows significantly increased, and she couldn’t hold them off. The loop was destroyed, and they were all forced to different loops. For a small period of time Bella stayed in her own private loop – not wanting to lose anymore children or loved ones. She still kept in touch with other ymbrynes and was informed by miss Bluebonnet about her troubles with hollows in the loop. Knowing the fear of your own loop getting destroyed, children getting murdered in front of your eyes, Bella couldn’t but come to her aid. Now she’s in Inndyr, set to keep this loop safe from any hollows.
